![]() It would mean you couldn’t finish the job until you bought new trimmer heads. Imagine if you had a worn out trimmer head partway through trimming and you did not have any replacements available. If your old trimmer head is not doing the job, replace it. This is true whether it is your home or a commercial property. When you are trimming the edge of the lawn, you want it to look as perfect as possible. Getting an RMBCZ260TS 2-pack string trimmer head pack is a great option. However, if you are using the trimmer frequently, you need to make sure you have additional trimmer heads as replacements. One of the great options for trimmers is the Red Max BCZ260TS, a commercial trimmer that can provide you with some great results. Regardless, you need to make sure that you have the proper equipment for every job before you start. You might even be a professional landscaper. It would all be so easy if I had money to spend on it on/or VDOT should step up and do the right thing but that won't happen 'til pigs fly :) Thanks for the responses.Do you have a large piece of property that you need to maintain? It might be your home, or it might be an apartment complex, school, or other area. I would love to extend my wildflower patch down to the slope but the seeds would wash right off as soon as the first good rain. I have taken dozens of pictures of other slopes both short and tall that people never mow and I don't see how they can fine me if I don't. I have decided to go to the county office that covers fines on properties that are maintained properly. And seriously, how long will it take me to weed-eat approximately 3600 square feet? I don't want to leave it looking so bad and one neighbor (with a flat yard) has already made comments to me about how it looks but VDOT hasn't officially closed the project so I'm not doing anything yet. I noticed that some were around $10 a piece so if it takes more than one at a time it will become very expensive. Is it going to be expensive to buy replacement trimmer heads for something that large too. If I buy a weed trimmer what would handle that kind of square footage? Would all of the larger rocks ( anywhere from marble size to softball size hurt a weed trimmer-they aren't going to clear them so I will have to clear those that might damage it. I think what I want to know is related to trying to weed eat the slope. No attractive landscaping, no terracing and no retaining wall. I am very angry and resentful that not only did they take part of my property, they left part of it basically ruined and they aren't going to help me at all. I probably gave you all a whole lot of venting instead of straight questions. This whole situation has been such a mess and very stressful. Pictures of my /user/Botann/library/?sort=3&page=1 Mike You should design each with that in mind. Why make a view for the public when you can make it for yourself by designing your garden from the inside out rather than from the outside in? I'm a garden freak, so I'm prejudiced. It would probably lessen your curb appeal quite a bit, but to me, that's only important if you're selling. ![]() :-) Maybe you could consider evergreen plants tall enough to help shield your house from the lights. Since your house is at the end of a T, do headlights bother you at night? Even with the drapes drawn every night, it would drive me nuts. Mowing that steep sloop, even with a string trimmer, is difficult and dangerous. You need walls, and or, terraces on both sides of the driveway or an informal rock garden that can serve as a wall. I like your idea of expanding the platform. I would do my best to blend them in and make em' as invisible as possible, especially the extension. Yup, I never understood why gutters are considered trim.
